I am an investor with over thirty years experience in stocks, bonds, real estate (urban, suburban, land) and government programs such as subsidized housing/Section 8. I have a Master's Degree plus and have retired into doing things that are of deep interest to me, which includes volunteer credit counseling, real estate counseling and supporting political candidates strong on national defense issues.

December 28, 2006: Recap and Ken Fisher

I received twenty-seven e-mails regarding my portfolio post yesterday. I forwarded a copy early to Random Roger (Roger has the best general investment blog out there, in my opinion). Then more e-mails and a couple of questions came in.

Each e-mail had a specific request, so I am responding today to make sure each inquiry is given my best effort.

Every investor should do recreational reading in the field from time to time. One book I just finished is really good:

THE ONLY THREE QUESTIONS THAT COUNT by Ken Fisher.

Mr. Fisher runs a very successful investment advisory service. He is also a Forbes contributor with his on column. He also goes on a lot of neat first class cruises via Forbes hawking his wares and advice.

Buy the book.Cramer pens the Forward. Even Charles Schwab manages to get in on the accolades.

I found the book to be a good intellectual read. Not every recreational investment book makes you think.
